Work and Travel USA (Work and Travel in the United States) is the most popular international student exchange program (the State Department’s annual quota for participants in this program is over 100,000 places), Work and Travel USA is a cultural student exchange program that allows students from all over the world to stay in America during the summer months and, together with US students and students from other countries around the world, work seasonal jobs at various employers across America.
This program gives the opportunity for direct participation in the daily life of the people of the United States of America through travel and temporary work for up to 4 months during the summer holidays.
To participate in the Work and Travel USA summer program, you must be a full-time student at an accredited educational institution and attend classes in good faith, as well as must have strong English speaking skills (Intermediate Level and above).
The US State Department runs the exchange program in accordance with the Ordinance on Mutual Education and the Cultural Exchange Act of 1961, as amended. The US State Department defines organizations for managing international exchange programs in several categories. These organizations are called Sponsors.
